Dwyane Wade & Actress Gabrielle Union Are Officially Engaged

It seems that 2014 will be a big year for weddings. Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade and actress Gabrielle Union are officially engaged.

Dwayne proposed to his longtime girlfriend Saturday and the actress accepted. They announced the news through social media.

The couple have been together for several years and there were recent indications that marriage was in the plans. The couple sent out Christmas cards together, with the return address being the "Wade-Union Family."

Wade posted a photo of Gabrielle wearing a large diamond, with the caption "She said YES!!!"

This will be the second attempt at marriage for both Gabrielle and Dwayne.

Gabrielle was previously married to retired professional American football Chris Howard from 2001to 2006.

When asked last year if she would get married again following her divorce from Chris Howard in 2006, Union told Access Hollywood, "absolutely," adding, "but I'm taking a lot more time leading up to it."

"It's seriously awesome," Union said of her relationship to Wade. "When you've been a couple for so long, people are like ‘when's the baby!'...we both kind of rushed into marriage and neither one of us was successful at that, so we're both kind of like, let's take our time. If the goal is forever, what are we rushing for."

Dwayne was married to Siohvaughn Funches from 2002 to 2010. The couple have 2 sons together.
