Hi lovelies, we're hoping you will be thrilled to see the return of African Sweetheart Man of the week! This week we're catching up with a talented upcoming artist Mazi Chuks who we're sure you agree is deserving of the Man of The Week title.
'Man of The Week is a celebration of the good African man. A man who works hard to be a provider and upholds strong values and principles.'
My name is Mazi Chuks and I am the youngest in a family of 6 children. I have 3 elder sisters and 2 brothers. I am originally from Imo State in Nigeria but I grew up in North London in the United Kingdom.
I am very aware of my Nigerian culture and I speak Igbo fluently and I write in Igbo also.
I studied IT and Network and communication however I have now placed it as a Plan B as I am focused on my career as a vocal artist.
I made the decision to officially get into the music scene in 2009 as it was something I have always believed in.
I had always planned to play football professionally or make music. I used to play football at a semi-professional level. I played for Barnet and Ilford in the UK but I later incurred injuries which sadly meant that I couldn't continue.
My favourite music genre has always been hi-life. I don't like to compare myself to anyone as I wouldn't really want you to hear me perform and say he sounds like Flavour or Wizkid . I do think that Flavour is a fantastic artist but I don't want a straight comparison with any artist.
How would you describe yourself?
I would say that I am humble, I am told often that I can be quite funny as well. I would also say that I am talented.
What qualities do you value in a woman?
God willing. Yes.
I believe in a woman being God fearing. I have a lot of Christian values which my parents helped to install in me and my siblings. They always encouraged us to go to church and I still do. When a woman is God fearing it creates trust. When she isn't, it makes things more difficult and issues like cheating might come up. I can't see myself marrying someone who isn't.
Generally when it comes to a woman's appearance I am not really fussy, personality matters the most. I would want to be with someone who is down to earth and enjoys a joke. The most important things to me is that she has good moral values.
Do you have anything else you'll like to share with our reader's?
...Yes, check out my music, I would buy it if it wasn't even mine (laughs).

Mazi is definitely down to earth, friendly and it's easy to sense his humility. We look forward to seeing him at the top in 2014!
