Nigerian billionaire covers the Forbes Africa Woman December 2013 to January 2014 Magazine issue. Starting her career as a secretary in a bank in the mid 1970s, Alakija, 62, then studied fashion in London and returned to Nigeria to start a label, Supreme Stitches. But her biggest break came in oil.
According to Forbes, Alakija who is the richest black woman in the world and is involved in the fashion, oil and printing industries is profoundly uncomfortable with being labelled as “super-rich”. She believes that she is far more than just her wealth.
