My name is Kiki Harrison and I work for ACE Charity. A charity on a journey to redefining what charity means in Africa.
What does ACE Africa Charity stand for and what is your objective?
ACE stands for Assisting, Caring & Empowering African Lives Foundation.
Our Vision: To create a platform of sustainability by evolving into the most ABLE, EFFECTIVE, EMPOWERING and RECOGNISED charity in Africa.
Our Vision: To create a platform of sustainability by evolving into the most ABLE, EFFECTIVE, EMPOWERING and RECOGNISED charity in Africa.
Our Mission: To re-define the meaning of charity in Africa while providing education, literacy skills and training to African children and youths. Our Goal: To effectively increase the literacy of over 6,000 Africans by 2017 and our focus is Education & Training, Economic Empowerment and Affordable Healthcare.
When was the charity set up and what are your achievements till date?
The Charity was formed in 2010. We have increased the literacy of almost 700 Africans, empowered over 4000 people, provided job opportunities for the youth and we currently have 3 ACE Centers in Nigeria.
We count our partnership with the Transcorp Hilton hotel, Abuja a success as every year they provide work experience opportunity to 20 youths.
The Hilton divides all 20 candidates into various departments in the hotel and give them a two-week training. This is an amazing opportunity as these candidates get to harness their current skill sets as well as learn new ones. Some are given full time employment at the end of the two-week period.

What inspired ACE Charity?
When I was 10 years old my mother took a few family members and myself to a park to feed the homeless, whilst we were distributing their meals their faces lit up with such grateful smiles when they received their packs.
This set off a fire inside of me. Ever since that day it became my lifelong ambition to help the less privilege.

Imagine an 8 year old not knowing where his or her chin is or their elbow.. Even their knee This was the case for most of the kids in this.

How can will help the ACE Charity mission?
There are millions of Africans who cannot read or write. As our main focus is Education we aim to reduce that figure by continuing to increase the literacy of Africans. For N1,000 a month you can join us in increasing the literacy of a child in Africa. Education is the greatest liberation that can be given to Africans in today’s society.
Please kindly watch this video as this depicts our ILSA campaign (Increase Literacy Skills Africa)
We have an outreach coming up in Abuja on Dec 14th and we would like people to donate all their unwanted items so we can donate it to the less fortunate. Here is a video of what our outreach looks like.
