I know that outside our country, there are noticeable differences between a citizen of a nation and a visitor. Foreigners pay higher in education, health, and most times are offered second class jobs. As a Nigerian living in his/her own fatherland, please mention just one benefit you have.
I can't see any because foreigners live better and bigger than us in our own country. Foreigners are more respected, even when we stand to buy tickets at the airport. This is not just about the government but about us; we still have that colonial/slave mentality.
Recently, I had to insist on a white man (not Indian, Arab, or Chinese) going to the end of the line where he should be. The boy issuing boarding pass liaised with a tout to take him forward. I, without mincing words, ordered him to go behind. They tried to justify their action to which I said, no. I asked him just a simple question, "Would you try this in your country?" Immediately, he went back to his rightful place.
It's not just about the government doing the right thing; we need total overhauling of our minds. You, Mr. Nigerian Boss, how do you treat your Nigerian staff in the presence of his/her counterparts who are foreigners? You NAFDAC official, you partner with crooked Indians to bring drugs to kill your own people and damage their liver and kidney only for Indians to make some good money from them during kidney/liver treatment.
Oga Custom, what about all the contraband in our country? Immigration, who is bringing and allowing all these people without valid documents into our country? Lebanese, Chinese, and Indians are part of our problem in this country. Mikano and other generator companies won't let Nigeria have electricity.
